Is there anyone who wakes up in the morning and says "It's time to be mediocre"? Or anyone who goes out to play on a sports team just to sit on the bench? How about is there any woman who looks in the mirror and says "I don't want to look too good looking, let me be average please."

I think it is pretty obvious that with the slight exception to a select few the answer will be "no one" to all of these questions. Why is that? Because something in our design and nature says that we were created for the best possible always.

This... Is Sainthood.

Many may know a part of my story where as a young boy,(similar to many of us growing up in the U.S.) when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I responded "I want to be a Super Hero". To this day superheroes hold high relevance in my life.(In fact I just bought a USB flash drive that is made as a Batman character. Lol)

As I have progressed and gotten older, I have learned that to be a Superhero means to be a Saint. In fact my conversion story could be summarized in this way... Superheroes led me to Tupac; who led me to the Saints; who led me to connection to the church; who led me to the Idente Missionaries and Fernando Rielo's thought; who led me Christ; who led me to our Heavenly Father.... And the Holy Spirit has guided this the whole way through.

I speak about Sainthood a lot. It's what inspired most of my recent art in particular my last EP. I often refer to the Identes as the "X-Men" which would mean of course that Fernando was Professor X, and I am definitely Wolverine.

I write about this here today to ask one simple question - What do you value?

My summary of what a Saint is would be simply put like this - "The Saint is the one who learns the true value of things in the Father's eyes and then lives accordingly. He/She is one who worries about nothing else but the Kingdom of God."

Be a Saint! Store up your treasures in Heaven, and never stop living a life of love.

This is the first of a series of video blogs I pray to be doing, which will address more in depth and more personally some of the thoughts I have been having from daily conversations and experiences in my life.

This first one addresses conversations I have been having about "doing shows" lately; why we do them; and a renewed vision of the terminology used when describing our events. I pray this reaches you all well, and you can get some more insight into the thought process behind all that I do.

Modern day common philosophy teaches us that our faith is a private matter not to be shared in the public sphere, or be labeled "intolerant" or what seems to be the favorite derogatory word nowadays ... "bigot".  

In order to grow and be genuine as a person, one must reflect and sit with how they could personally infuse their faith "into" the culture as they are not opposing forces.  Let us welcome all of our experiences and direct them towards the truth, goodness, and the light.

I refrain against the word used popularly in Christianity today "Anomaly" because it suggests that we are some sort of "glitch" in the system, or "against" it.  

Christ said "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill." - Matt. 5:17 

In the same way, I do not think we are "anomalies" but rather I think we are "trans-cultural" or "trans-systematic beings" meaning we are not against the culture or system but above it and seeking to direct it towards the more.

For me personally that means, "Hip Hop raised me, but Jesus saved me."  I am genuinely both, but for you this may mean something different.  Your culture may be different than mine, but don't be afraid to go out and become who you are being called to be.  Pray on it and see where you are being asked to go, and what you are being asked to do.... With whom; in what way.

Heavenly Father, I pray that we have the grace to enculturate the places we live and dwell with the true faith we know from your Son.  Holy Spirit guide us, and may our Guardian Angels protect us as we go.  Through the intercession of Mother Mary, and St. Joseph. Amen.
