It’s been a few years, and been blessed to see this grow and leave and effect on different types of people. I pray that we continue to be a hub where people can get fired up and then sent out into their communities to represent Christ in the world today. Been having fun chopping up these samples....
In marriage most people would say that the most important thing is communication, and others may say trust... While others say the most important thing is keeping up the romance. Yet while all of these things are important, we find that the most important thing is forgiveness. I am not Jesus and though I continue to strive for perfection, I know I am not there yet and may never be there until I'm in Heaven.... The title comes from the Greek word τετέλεσται (tetelestai) meaning "it is finished", which according to St. John, are the last words of Jesus on the cross.
The word tetelestai was also written on business documents or receipts in New Testament times to show indicating that a bill had been paid in full. The Greek-English lexicon by Moulton and Milligan says this: “Receipts are often introduced by the phrase [sic] tetelestai, usually written in an abbreviated manner...” (p. 630). The connection between receipts and what Christ accomplished would have been quite clear to John’s Greek-speaking readership; it would be unmistakable that Jesus Christ had died to pay for their sins. - The Symbol - All is Love |
