🤔 💭 As a kid, my mom would always say “time and place”.... ⏰ I don’t think she realized just how biblical she was being. This helped me navigate through different environments and crowds as I’ve grown older and built various connections.
My spiritual director for a few years Father Martin Esguerra(M.Id) who is now in Rome would always say “your schedule frees you.” And at first this didn’t make sense to me, now I realize how simple it is that proper time management although practical is also a reflection of our spiritual lives.... The question is, how are you and I spending our time? With whom are we spending our time? With what are we spending our time? With what purpose are we directing our time? ⏰ ✝️📖”There is an appointed time for everything....” - Ecclesiastes 3:1 #sainthoodinthecity - The Symbol - All is Love

🤔💭 A lot of times, the things I speak about or create series about for my teens wind up becoming themes for my own life to learn and go deeper with....
✝️📖 “Be still, and know that I am God.” - Psalm 46:10 🚌🛑 Last week I was rushing to pick up my son from school, and it seemed everywhere I turned had a school bus with the stop sign up this further delaying me in the traffic. Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m always “on the Go” from place to place, with project to project, from parish to parish, and person to person... Many times, I struggle even simply accepting that there is nothing I could personally “DO” that would ever achieve my salvation; and there’s nothing in my daily activity that makes God “love me more”. In my mind I know the simple Gospel truth that “God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”(Romans 5:8), but in practice it always feels like I must do more. From my spirit I gaze at Christ on the cross shouting “Not only you Lord, but me too.” However lately, as God has slowed me down in this season I realize that some parts of this battle simply isn’t my fight, but HIS fight; and some pets of it for my other brothers and sisters to take care of. So in many ways, those school buses are a sign of how much I need to stop.... How I need to be still, understand, trust, and know the nature of my Heavenly Father; simply worshipping him in this season. Amen. 🙏✝️ #SainthoodInTheCity - The Symbol - All is Love Come to "Worship on the Water" in the parking lot of St. Rose of Lima Church Parking Lot which is right off of Rockaway Beach.

A small clip from a teaching with teens in the Bronx at Santa Maria Parish's youth group @BodegaTeensNYC - The Symbol - All is Love Above are some of the breakout sessions where young people will be able to explore their faith through the arts, and other activities that are more interactive and can be applied in their daily life. Brief descriptions of these breakout sessions can be found below.
1) Brainwashed gives an opportunity for young people to explore "apologetics" as related to things currently spoken about as controversial topics in our modern society. These topics include but are not limited to the influence of the media; homosexuality; abortion; euthanasia; and more. 2) Art and Creation is a visual arts workshop that explores through the transcendental of beauty the reality of God through all of creation. 3) Faith and Fashion looks at clothing as a means of art and expression, and explores how it can be used particularly as an expression of faith. 4) Jesus and Jui Jitsu gives an opportunity to interact with the martial art known as Brazilian jui Jitsu and compares the techniques to aspects of the spiritual battle. 5) Faith, Fellowship, & Fortnite is an opportunity for young people to see video games not just as a "waste of time" or all of the other negative things associated with it, but instead to see them as yet another means of building a community of faith. 6) The Spoken word is a workshop on performance art poetry, where young people can engage with certain poetic elements such as metaphor, hyperbole, alliteration, etc. and move them into a performance art of expression and in the process see the power behind words; relating this art form to the incarnation as expressed in the Gospel of John, Chapter 1. We look forward to seeing you and your teens there. God bless. - The Symbol - All is Love Video With Lyrics available above. Stream on all music streaming platforms.
