I was inspired to write this, this morning when responding to a friend . . .
There was a homeless man, who made some mistakes early on in life, dropped out of school and fell in with some of the wrong people and so eventually as a young man, he wound up on the street. Twenty years went by and he was still in the streets. As time progressed however, he realized although he had much hardship, there was a lot of good that he could do. He saw his great poverty as a blessing and expected nothing for himself, but only from himself to give. He started helping local businesses clean up, not asking for pay. And he saw some other homeless in the area, and over time befriended them. He offered them inspiration and hope. When he was able to get some blankets in the winter he made sure they all had them first. When someone offered him food, he made sure they ate before he did. Everyone in the neighborhood loved him. He even served as a watchman to protect some of the families. On the other hand, there was a rich man who was very bright in school and excelled to being the head of his class. He went to a prestigious university, and became the owner of a huge Fortune 500 company. Twenty years go by, and his company had grew reliving product in countries across the world. However, he sauger only more power in the market. He bought out other companies who were his competition and purposely run them into the ground. He slowly started stripping away benefits to his employees, so that his company wouldn't have to pay for it and he could increase his own salary. His enemies in the business world hated him. Well, about 5 years beyond this one of the homeless men with the first got some help and back up on his feet. It turns out that one of the homeless that was being cared for and attended to was an ex-businessman who lost his company to the second man. Cleaned up and brought back with a new fire he started another company and ran this second man's company out of business. He practiced great business etiquette and had many benefits for his employees. He said that he had learned such things from the first homeless man, and so he went and found him back in their prior neighborhood and he gave him a penthouse apartment and asked him to found a non-profit with this first homeless man in charge to tend to the needs of their community. The second man however wound up in the street, and wound up being someone that the non-profit attended to. You see, it's all about living with a spirit of great Poverty and Charity. The second man was and intellectual, but he created many enemies and his life was a constant battle and in the end he lost. However the first man was very simple minded and he gained many friends by simply giving and in the end he won. - All is Love - The Symbol
